I am often reminded of the far reaching power of music. Wether positive or NEGATIVE, the music we create has ripples that continue on to have long lasting effects. These two examples are of the latter kind. Damn, damn, damn. Curses to the homie Dark Half for ever sending me these links.
Take u to da Movies…

Aite, The homie Anti-Social of P.A.P.E.R. Enterprise put me onto this dude, Rev. William Burke. He’s been rolling tight with RZA for the past couple of years and his material is not widely available. But, I must say, that he has pretty much come with it on every track I have heard him on. I think he is going to be some one to reckon with in the very near future. Peep this Nike project he is featured on…

I can’t say that I am a big 50 cent fan, so to speak. However, I had, at one time, bought into the hype behind his music. And “Get Rich or Die Trying” does hold a place in my music collection. Despite however I may feel about his music, one has to admit that he is a smart and shrewd business man, and no one can deny the successes he has achieved in a relatively short amount of time.
50’s new venture “The 50th law” is a book co-authored by Robert Greene, author of “The 48 Laws of Power” and “The Art of Seduction”. If you have ever read either of these titles, you will know that both have a lean toward throwing all morality out the window in order to achieve your personal goals, whether they be in business or romance.
To my surprise, The 50th Law, offers very motivating material with much less moral compromise than Greene’s other titles. Topics include self assertivness, dispelling your fears, turning negatives into positives, and so forth.
There still a certain element of self promotion on the part of 50 Cent infused throughout the book, by way of retelling his trademark stories of hustling and beefs with Ja Rule. But it wouldn’t be 50 without that. If you can manage to sift through all of this, there is still a considerable amount of great information to be found. After reading it I know I still came away with something from the book.
“The 50th Law” gets my cosign.

I implore all of you to be an agent of change. To be a voice and a source of power to begin the movement to protect the innocent and not be silent. Our children are lost everyday in the street. I have put myself in some pretty scary situations to help and protect people who have been bullied or preyed upon. I have been on the train where men twice my size have bowed heir heads as someone beat up innocent passengers. Where is your heart at? Do you have no sense or responsibility? You are a man. Do what you were put here on this earth to do. I had a person say to me once, “yeah, but the good guys don’t have guns.” Yeah, you may get shot, you may not. Yeah you may have to fight, you may not, but the collective apathy is a cancer that plagues our communities. I will go to my grave and know it was a good fight to help another, than to sit idly by and watch ignorant and savage people feed their own desire for destruction. This is a wake up call.
